The British House of Commons committee says Turkey should withdraw some of its troops from Turkish Cyprus to assist a solution on the disputed island

Britain, as a veto-holding member of the U.N. Security Council and a guarantor power in Cyprus that will hold the presidency of the EU as of July 2005, is in a unique position to assist in finding a solution for the disputed island, a committee of British lawmakers said in a report, further urging that the British government make the solution of the Cyprus issue a priority in 2005."
