When the Turkish National Police Force wanted to improve its ability to fight crime, its leaders turned to the University of North Texas.
That was six years ago.
Since then, Turkish police officers studying in the United States have been able to share their own experiences fighting Middle Eastern terrorism.
'In order for the U.S. to respond to terrorism, the most important thing is cooperation,' said Suleyman Ozeren, a graduate student in UNT's Turkish Institute for Police Studies.
Mr. Ozeren is one of 22 officers from Turkey studying at UNT and one of 132 at U.S. universities. "
