The Impact of Syria’s Conflict on the Turkish Economy

At the time of writing, the USD has reached a record level of 3 Turkish Liras this morning and it has been renewing its record for the last few weeks. For economists and the banking industry it’s very alarming, however it looks like the Turkish “temporary government” does not seem too concerned. The weakening of the Turkish Lira began with the Syrian conflict and it became even more extreme after the elections which had resulted in literally nothing, as expected uncertainty of post-election Turkey and a lack of government has lowered the value of Lira even more.
