Voices: Cracking down on free expression in Turkey

ISTANBUL — Two blackouts, less than one week apart, plunged Turkey into darkness. The first, caused by a massive power outage, crippled cities and provinces across the country. Last Monday's blackout had nothing to do with the electricity grid: The lights stayed on while access to Twitter, Facebook and YouTube was cut.
