Turkish Media Raids: A Steep Alley To Presidential Doom

Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is obviously dangling at the bottom end of the political chain. He is fighting the battle of his life to survive a forthcoming election in June, which he apparently fear will nail his political coffin. Desperate time, it is said, calls for desperate measures. These measures, he thinks, should involve suffocating the press. So last weekend, Erdogan renewed attacks on a section of the media outside his pockets, arresting over 20 journalists and other media workers.
