Hopes for European Union reforms in Turkey are dwindling because President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's authoritarian governance is increasingly turning the country into a one-man show, with his self-styled “New Turkey” corroding some of the hard-earned achievements in terms of human rights, reforms and the independence of the judiciary.
