Erdoğan sworn-in as president, opposition boycotts ceremony

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has taken the oath of office as Turkey's first president elected by popular vote.

Erdoğan, now the 12th president of Turkey, took his oath at Parliament in a ceremony that was boycotted by main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) deputies.
