Israel orders families of diplomats to leave Turkey

Israel ordered on Friday families of Israeli diplomats in Turkey to return following protests outside the Israeli diplomatic missions in Ankara and İstanbul.

Israel also further decreased the number of its diplomats in Turkey, according to a statement from Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman's office on Friday carried by Israeli media. Diplomatic relations between Turkey and Israel were already downgraded after the Israeli raid of the Turkish aid ship Mavi Marmara in 2010. The Israeli ambassador in Ankara was expelled in the course of the crisis.
