Turkish fashion-designer sisters win Jameel Prize
Dice Kayek’s garments are inspired by Ottoman and Byzantine motifs

A Turkish fashion label has been awarded the Jameel Prize for artists and designers inspired by Islamic traditions. Dice Kayek is run by two sisters, Ece and Ayşe Ege, who are based in Istanbul and Paris. They submitted three dresses inspired by the robes of Ottoman rulers, Byzantine mosaics and the domes of Istanbul’s mosques and palaces.
