Turkey's father of ice hockey grew up loving the game in Jackson, Michigan

JACKSON, MI – Nearly 26 years ago, one veteran and six rookie hockey players took to a miniature ice rink half the size a basketball court in Ankara, Turkey.
Opposing the inexperienced Ankara team on Jan. 9, 1988, at Kurtluge Park was a team of players from Istanbul, mostly international businessmen who grew up playing the sport out of the country. The teams played 3-on-3 with unattended, miniature nets in what would become the first Turkish hockey game.
