Turkey not planning alcohol ban

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said that Ankara was not planning an alcohol ban, something he said had never even been adopted in the Ottoman Empire,1news.az reports.
He reminded that Murad IV had tried to adopt a ban on alcohol, but had scrapped the idea eventually. Babacan reminded that the alcohol ban in the US had had a negative impact. The Turkish government had no scheduled talks on alcohol prohibition, he concluded.
