Why Did Maliki Invite Turkish Opposition Leader to Iraq?

Journalists were not invited to the meeting that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Turkish main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu held yesterday morning [Aug. 21] in Baghdad. There was only a photo opportunity for colleagues from news agencies. We asked several times to meet with Maliki, but our requests were turned down on grounds he was to travel abroad.
