The first casualty of any conflict is innocence. So goes fate for the Turkish people who have been killed or injured in the recent upheavals in more than 40 Turkish cities. Other forms of casualty are also predictable. Turkish stock market plunged 10.47 per cent on Monday following extensive clashes between protesters and police forces across the country.
