A call from where the law does not exist

What was experienced on Tuesday, Sept. 18 during the Ergenekon trial, provided a summary of the point to which our justice has reached. (The Ergenekon case is an alleged ultra nationalist shadowy gang accused of planning to topple the government by staging a coup, initially by spreading chaos and mayhem.) That day, conditions in the hearing hall were made that much worse when it was announced that no written papers, including petitions, were to be exchanged between defendants and their lawyers. They first had to be seen by the judge and then passed over to the parties.
