Russians buy Turkish bank from Belgium's ailing Dexia

Istanbul (dpa) - Russia‘s Sberbank announced Friday that it had reached an agreement with Belgium‘s ailing Dexia bank for the purchase of Turkish high-street bank Denizbank.

Sberbank said in a statement that it had paid 2.82 billion euros (3.55 billion dollars) for 99.85 per cent of Denizbank‘s equity, with the sale expected to be competed by the end of the year.
