GE Helps Power a Growing Turkey
Despite an uncertain world economy and much volatility in the nearby European Union, Turkey continues to grow. And a growing economy needs electric power. GE Energy, already a major supplier to Turkey’s power sector, recently announced new deals to supply the equipment for a major new gas-fired power plant in the Erzin District of southern Turkey, along with related services. The gigantic new plant will ultimately generate 900 megawatts, which is a whopping 2.6 percent of Turkey’s entire current electricity requirement.
