On Saturday morning, November 15, 2003, a suicide bomber exploded his car outside the Neve Shalom synagogue in Istanbul, Turkey. Only local Muslims sitting outside were killed. It was al-Qaeda's first operation in Turkey, soon followed by two more attacks the following week."
