Bulgur is a main ingredient in Turkish cuisine. If you have ever eaten a typical homemade dish, rest assured, it was probably made with bulgur. Bulgur is defined as being in the wheat family. It is a form of wheat that has been boiled for a short time, then broken up and then dried. After eating so many rice dishes, it is a nice change when using bulgur to your meal. Bulgur is found in many Indian or Turkish markets in the local New York City area. One market in particular is the Turkiyem Market in Sunnyside, Queens. Among many other wonderous grains to be bought there, bulgur is one that is used for many dishes. Having never used bulgur in past meals, the trip to this market turned out to be a successful one.
