The women members elected to the Republican People's Party, or the CHP, Party Assembly symbolize the change the party is undergoing. Following the recent election, the 80-member assembly now includes a total of 21 females. With only a minority of them coming from existing party ranks, the majority are new party members. They vary from businesswomen to sociologists and the youngest is only 26 years old."
