"Turkish opposition's amnesty proposal draws ire from AKP, MHP

Turkey’s ruling and nationalist parties have reacted harshly to the main opposition party leader’s proposal of a general amnesty in the fight against terrorism, but the move has been welcomed by Turkey’s main pro-Kurdish party.

Speaking at a Republican People’s Party, or CHP, referendum rally in his hometown of Tunceli on Wednesday, party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said a general amnesty could become part of the agenda if the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, laid down its arms."
