I sit on a veranda on a hilltop overlooking the Turkish Mediterranean coast some 40 minutes outside the tourist hub of Bodrum. On the steep road snaking past my view a lone rider on a horse with a flag for the CHP secularist party clops by, a fancy folksy gimmick cooked up to show that they are the true party of ordinary folk. He goes from village square to village square advising the locals to vote 'no' in the upcoming September referendum, one initiated by the pro-Islamic AK party to begin changing the Constitution in its favor."
