Following the conquest of Constantinople in 1453, the the St. Andrew in Krisei Church and Monastery was converted into the Sümbül Sinan Tekke into a mosque and tekke, or dervish lodge, for the adherents of the Halveti Sufi sect, which had grown in popularity in the city. In a bid to restore its many historical buildings, Fatih Municipality finished refurbishing the building in 2008"
