"Turkey and Russia at odds over arbitray EU sanctions against Iran

Ankara, 29 June - The Turkish Foreign Ministry yesterday called on Iran and Western powers to launch talks aimed at the implementation of the nuclear fuel swap deal worked out between Ankara, Brasilia and Teheran in May and to do so as soon as possible, before the stand-off with Iran spins out of control. Having seen the European Foreign Ministers decide on a further tightening of sanctions against Iran, Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Burak Ozugergin told reporters that 'if they do not sit down and talk, we will be in a worse-off situation this time next year. Time is working against a solution'."
