"Cyprus solution would help Turkey's EU hopes

The solution of the Cyprus problem would facilitate the prospects of Turkey`s accession to the EU, Angela Filote, Spokeswoman for EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule, said on Tuesday.
Replying to questions on Turkey`s role in the region and the Cyprus problem, Filote noted the Commission wanted Turkey to support talks for a Cyprus settlement, and that there was reason to believe this was what Turkey wanted too."
