"Kurdish philology department to open in Turkey

Turkish Government intends to open the department of Kurdish philology in its universities. It is another step on the way to Kurdish language recognition. Turkish generals welcomed the initiative which was considered a step to ease the conflict that already killed over 40 000 people. According to Polish RAR daily, Kurds make 20% of Turkish population, however the activities of Kurdish parties are long forbidden, and their rights to culture and language are violated."
