"Turkey Institutes the way forward

Last week I went to the Netherlands to moderate a debate on Cyprus. The two speakers were Heinz Kramer, one of the leading European experts on Turkey and a member of the German think-tank SWP in Berlin, and Niyazi Kizilyürek of the University of Cyprus and one of the few Turkish Cypriots trusted and respected throughout the whole island. The debate was part of a series of lectures on Turkey’s changing foreign policy called “A Good Neighbor.” The series was kicked-off in October by the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmet Davutoğlu, while the events will eventually be concluded by Soli Özel from Bilgi University. The meetings are organized by the Turkey Institute in the Netherlands (www.turkije-instituut.nl)."
