BBC News website readers in Istanbul have sent in their accounts of recent severe floods and voiced concern over the city's ability to cope.
It's a real disaster. People who were trying to go to work found themselves in the middle of the floodwaters. The waters threw huge trucks like toys. Truck drivers in the parking areas lost their lives. I will never forget the story of seven young female textile workers, who had been on their way to work travelling on a minibus provided by their textile workshop. The minibus had no windows."
