Farewell Homeland by Fuat Andic is a reflective novel about a family forced to flee their home due to faith differences

WASHINGTON, D.C (MMD Newswire) April 29, 2009 -- Farewell Homeland by Fuat Andic is the tale of a Jewish family exiled from Spain and that family's settlement in Turkey.

Andic tells the story of Dr. Ben Naum, who, in 1492, was expelled from Granada, Spain, and took refuge in the seaport city of Salonika, Turkey. The author gives an account of Naum's family and its descendants over centuries and their extermination with the German occupation of Salonika during World War II. Although fictional, the novel's main character is similar to many Jews who have been forced to leave their homes because of their faith, states Andic."
