Election very important

A Presidency Press Bureau statement said that the PM took part in a programme called AKIS on BRT and spoke about the elections. The Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer, leader of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) said that in the election the public will show how it feels about whether the negotiations should continue or not. He added that the election to be held on 19 April will be extremely important. Soyer said that progress both in the search for a solution to the Cyprus problem and in economic fields could change after the elections and, in order to understand this, the electorate should look at the past political history of the political parties. The PM said that if the parties that are “against progress” attain power then the dynamism might stop, progress might be reversed and the Cyprus matter might be blocked. Prime Minister Soyer recorded that politics should be open and transparent and all the political parties should clarify their political programmes to the public."
