The Turkish embassy in Finland suspects the Kurdish separatist group PKK was behind an attempt to burn the embassy early on Tuesday morning. In a statement sent to the media the Turkish embassy condemned the act and said it believes it was done for political reasons. Police took four young men into custody in Helsinki on Tuesday morning on the suspicion that they were involved in trying to burn the embassy. However, the police would not comment on what they thought the motive might be. A bottle or several bottles of burning liquid were thrown at the front door of the Turkish embassy early on Tuesday morning, but the fire was put out before it spread.
