"Ukraine to be the main grain supplier to Turkey
Due to favorable weather conditions, in 2008/09 Ukraine will harvest a record grain crop of more than 43 mln tonnes, up 1.5 times compared to the previous year. Thus, the country will export 7 mln tonnes of wheat, 5 mln tonnes of barley and 3.6 mln tonnes of maize, according to the forecast of IA APK-Inform.
At the same time, grain prices on the export market have continued to decrease since the beginning of the grain season. The situation is anticipated to see continued exports of Ukrainian grain, especially wheat."
