A United Nations officer has lent his support to a project that aims to preserve the sea and shore of an Aegean town. Lee Thomas, an Australian advisor of the United Nations Development Program, or UNDP, spoke of a $2.5 million donation from the Global Environmental Fund, or GEF, that will be used to ensure sustainable usage of the sea and shore in the Muğla county city of Datça, which was chosen as a pilot reigon, as well as expanding protection for the area, reported Doğan news agency.
