When a tiny island in the Pacific Ocean sends one or two athletes to the Olympics Games, it is about participation. However, when an European country with a population of over 70 million, which ranks 18th in the world with its nominal gross domestic product, or GDP, sends a team of 68 athletes, including former world and Olympic champions, it is not, and it cannot be about �feeling the Olympic spirit.�"
