"Atomic Energy of Canada interested in Turkey project
The Gazette

Canada's nuclear agency, Atomic Energy of Canada, was reported today as being among several international groups interested in building Turkey's first nuclear power station. Vinci, France's biggest construction firm, Suez, the Belgian-based power and water group, and China Guandong Nuclear Power, as well as AECL, sought full documentation from the Turkish Government. AECL would partner with other undisclosed companies. The plant would be built on the Mediterranean coast near Akkuyu and would cost $8 billion U.S."
