"Istanbul governor: US consulate gunfight was a 'suicide attack'

An armed attack on the US consulate in Istanbul on Tuesday that left three police officers and three gunmen dead was a 'suicide attack,' Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler said on Friday.
Speaking to reporters in Istanbul, Guler said that a total of 10 people had been taken into custody in connection with the attack, when three gunmen opened fire on a police post outside the main gate of the US consulate in the suburb of Istinye, reported dpa."
