"MEP Joost Lagendijk leaves European Parliament in 2009
Dutch Green MEP and Chairman of the Turkey-EU delegation Joost Lagendijk (1) will leave the European Parliament after 2009. If his mandate expires, he will not aspire a new period.
'I want to stop while I still enjoy my work at the European Parliament. The past years I have been dealing with subjects, which are very much of interest to me, like the enlargement of the EU, Turkey and the Balkans. Within these areas I have achieved as much as I wanted. Now it is time for something completely different."
