"EU regulation challenges Turkish chemicals

Turkish companies may be prevented from shipping products into the European Union market if their products do not comply with the requirements of Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), an EU institution set up last year to ensure safe usage of chemicals and to ensure competitiveness across the continent. Secondly and more crucially, companies whose supply chains intersect the EU market face the risk of costly supply chain disruptions, said Murat Akyüz, president of Istanbul Chemical and Chemical Products Exporters' Association (İKMİB) at a press meeting yesterday."
