That “the EU is the guarantor of Turkey’s secular system,” was not all that Olli Rehn said. He also said that the storm was over and that the obstacles before EU-Turkey relations had been cleared. The Turkish desk in Brussels is now relaxed. The fact that France followed Germany in giving the green light to the continuation of the negotiations is good news. Now all eyes have turned to Ankara.
