"EU envoys to urge DTP to distance itself from PKK
Ambassadors of European Union member states based in the Turkish capital will today convene with Ahmet Türk, the leader of the pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party (DTP), which is at the heart of public criticism and pressure for its insistence on not calling the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) a “terrorist” organization. The invitation for Türk to attend the meeting, which will be hosted by the Portuguese Embassy, was extended weeks ago, meaning weeks before ongoing tension due to fatal terrorist attacks launched by the PKK on civilians and soldiers in Turkey, EU diplomatic sources first of all noted, while speaking on condition of anonymity with Today’s Zaman on Monday."
