"Dutch Lieutenant Serving in Turkish Army
AMSTERDAM, 23/10/07 - The defence ministry is permitting a Dutch lieutenant to serve temporarily in the Turkish army. The lieutenant has dual Dutch and Turkish nationality. Turkey requires its citizens to undergo lengthy national service in Turkey, or to buy out of this for about 6,000 euros. In that case, limited service of about one month has to be fulfilled."
