I had the opportunity to come together with British Foreign Minister David Miliband in Istanbul the other week, the first Western statesman to visit Turkey after the recent dramatic developments in our country. I could not attend the event because I was in Krynica, a central European Polish town on the Polish-Slovakian border, as a panelist in three different panels discussing �The role of Turkey in shaping the new Middle East� defined as �Davos of Central and Eastern Europe.� "
