Referring to a panel on the wall of the Turkish Parliament quoting Atatürk’s words “Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the people,” Suver asks whether ‘the people’ means only men. “As long as you do not give a chance for equal representation in Parliament, this saying is invalid – erase that saying and put ‘men’ instead of ‘public,’ so we know our place.” "I am convinced that the exercise of social and political rights by women is necessary for mankind’s happiness and pride.
