"Hottest day in Istanbul in 78 years, 2 die in Burdur and Sinop

Yesterday was the hottest day of the last 78 years in Istanbul, Mustafa Yildirim, Director of Istanbul Meteorology Department, told the Anatolian News Agency on Wednesday.
The heat wave also hit the Mediterranean holiday resort of Antalya where temperatures went as high as 49 degrees Celsius.
He said, 'the temperature was 42.2 degrees Celsius at 3.00 p.m. in Kilyos (district of Istanbul) today. Previous record broken in Istanbul in June was 39.2 degrees Celsius on June 28, 1982.'"
