"ECB: Stabilization successful in Turkey
The European Central Bank (ECB) said Turkey had experienced a brilliant stabilization process after its 2001 economic crisis.

The ECB released a report titled the 'Review of International Role of the Euro' on June 25. The report says that the recent downward trend in foreign currency deposits among EU candidate countries was driven by Turkey, where the share of foreign currency deposits in declined from more than 60 percent of total deposits in 2001 to about 40 percent at the end of 2006."
