"Bozkurt disappointed at low number of female candidates
Emine Bozkurt, the European Parliament rapporteur on women's rights in Turkey, said she was deeply disappointed about the very limited number of women candidates in the upcoming July 22 general elections.

The Dutch Socialist MEP of Turkish origin, who has written the women's rights report in Turkey for the last two years, made clear that despite the promises to field many women in the candidate lists, the number of women who can be elected is very low."
