"‘Turkish military not against the EU'

Turkey's special envoy for countering terrorism, retired Gen. Edip Başer said that the Turkish military was not against the EU, reported the Anatolia news agency. At a security conference in Aydın on Saturday, Başer said he wants Turkey to be a member of the EU, although this was not a goal as such but rather an instrument to reach the level of modern civilization."
