"'Solution to Cyprus problem is in the UN'
German Ambassador to Turkey Eckart Cuntz yesterday expressed his support for Turkey's position that the Cyprus issue should be solved under UN auspices, saying 'Negotiations on the Cyprus issue should take place under the UN umbrella.'
Cuntz, speaking to the Anatolia news agency, stressed that the current German EU Presidency has promised to focus on direct trade with Turkish Cypriots. 'We cannot make assurances of success, but we're engaged in the process and that is our aim,' he added."
