Scandal: US denies Turkish skiers visas, sees them as ‘threat’

"Scandal: US denies Turkish skiers visas, sees them as ‘threat’
Three Turkish athletes were denied US visas to participate in a Ski Trainers Alpine Discipline Synchronized Competition to be held between March 30 and April 13.

US officials say there are many names on the US terrorist watch list that matched Ahmet Demir, the name of one of the athletes. The two other athletes, Cengiz Dilik and Recep Dilik, indicated they were students on their visa application, but US officials were skeptical that 35 year-old men were college students. Although the Dilik brothers tried to explain they were attending college for a second degree, the US officials still denied them visas."
