"EU plans new initiatives for north

THE GERMAN Presidency of the EU is expected to publish its initial proposals on the issue of direct trade with the north this month.
A report in Greek-language daily Politis claims that the results from the preliminary investigations by the German Presidency into the issue will be examined during the first ten days of February. However, no decision is expected in the immediate future, as the main aim is to find a solution which is acceptable to both sides.
