It is significant when a Turkish woman becomes head of a Council of Europe committee in charge of gender equality and women rights, said main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Ankara deputy Gülsün Bilgehan. She was unanimously elected on Monday head of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) committee on equal opportunities for women and men. "
